9th Aveune N. and Ocean Blvd. Since 1944 “Never a Dull Moment” has best described “The Eighth Wonder of the World”, The Bowery, the owners, past to present, Jack Cook, Dick Layer, and Victor Shamah have proven to it’s millions of patrons throughout the decades “Ya can’t beat fun!” Myrtle Beach’s world-famous Bowery not only boasts the fact it the original home of supergroup Alabama (1973-1981), but has churned out an entire staff of celebrity characters including: “Don’t Cry Joe” (Dance Marathon Record Holder), “Scuba” Osburne (World Record Holder for carrying the most beer steins in had (34), “April”, (Trapeze and Ceiling Dancer), and Bouncing Betty” (the 330 lb. Go-Go Girl). The Keg on the other hand, also featured a fun-loving gang of waiters and bartenders, with the emphasis on dancing to the best musical groups of the 60’s and 70’s era.
